A tactic connects to a source, either a marketing program or a campaign. When the source is a program, you set the tactic's business unit. If the source is a campaign, the tactic inherits the campaign's business unit. After you save a tactic's business unit, you can't change it.
-
Based on whether you're creating a tactic for a marketing program or for a
campaign:
- Marketing program: From the navigation menu of the Marketing Planning & Operations app, click Marketing Tactics | New.
- Campaign: On the Tactics tab of a campaign's Planning & Operations area, click New Tactic.
- Select whether you want to create the tactic from scratch or from a template, and click Next.
-
To create from scratch:
- Enter the primary details of the tactic, such as name, description, and type.
- If the tactic is part of a business unit, select it.
- If the tactic belongs to a marketing program or campaign, select the program or campaign as the source.
- Save the tactic.
- To create from a template, search and select the template, and then click Use Template.
