By default, Marketing Planning and Operations keeps records private. Sharing tools give your team the access that they need beyond the records each person owns.

Keep Organization-Wide Defaults Private
Org-wide defaults set each user's baseline access to records they don't own. Keep these objects private, so users see only the records they own or that others share with them:
- Marketing Program
- Marketing Goal
- Marketing Tactic
- Marketing Tactic Template
- Campaign Extension
- Review
- Review Execution
- Compliance Control Scope
Important Don't set these objects to Public Read/Write to share more records.
Public Read/Write turns off the automatic sharing that compliance reviews rely on. Public
Read Only turns off the read access that reviewers get to the record under review.
Share Records with Your Team
With the objects private, share records beyond their owners with the sharing tool that fits the need.
| To Share | Use |
|---|---|
| Records owned by a team with their managers | Role hierarchy |
| A set of records with a role, group, or business unit | Sharing rules |
| A single record as a one-off exception | Manual sharing |
Access That Works by Default
Compliance reviews automatically share the record under review with its reviewers, so you don't set up sharing for review access.
Allowed creators control who can create marketing programs at each hierarchy level. This setting doesn't share the records they create.
