Set Up the Marketing Planning and Operations Agent

Create an Agentforce agent from the Marketing Planning and Operations agent template. The agent creates marketing programs and goals, and builds multilevel hierarchies of programs and goals. It also looks up your planning hierarchy setup to help your team select the right group and level for programs.

To create an agent from an Employee Agent template: Manage AI Agents

Marketing Planning and Operations ships an Agentforce Employee Agent type agent template. An agent built from this template creates records only. It doesn't change, delete, or re-link the records that your team already has.

  1. Turn On Marketing Planning and Operations if you haven't already.
  2. Set Up Einstein Generative AI.
  3. Enable Agentforce.
  4. From Agentforce Studio, use the Marketing Planning and Operations agent template to create your agent.
The template provides the agent's subagents and the actions that create programs and goals and look up your planning hierarchy setup. You can review and adjust the agent before you activate it.
See Create an Agent from an Employee Agent Template. For guidance on deploying an Agentforce Employee Agent, see the Agentforce Implementation Guide for Employee-Facing Agents.
  5. Give users permission to use the agent.
    1. Make sure that the permission sets or profiles assigned to your agent users have access to your Employee Agent type agent.
    2. Assign the Marketing Planning and Operations Agent User permission set group to users who use the agent.
This permission set group gives users the access that they require to create programs and goals and to read their planning hierarchy setup.

Your marketing team can now open the agent you created from the template and create programs and goals in conversation.

Note
Note The agent needs at least one active marketing hierarchy group before it can create records. If no active hierarchy group exists, the agent doesn't create or place records. Create and activate a hierarchy group first.
