Your Salesforce admin sets up rules that automatically add mandatory compliance controls to programs. You add any other controls manually, and then send all the controls for review.

Compliance reviews check a program against compliance controls. This process is separate from approvals, which route a program for sign-off.

Add Compliance Controls to a Marketing Program

Add compliance controls to a program beyond the mandatory ones and assign a reviewer for each.

  1. On the Governance tab of a marketing program, click Add Controls.
  2. Search for and select the compliance controls to add.
If the program already has a control, then it doesn't appear on the list.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Assign users or user groups as the default reviewers for each control.
  5. Click Done.

The program gets the selected controls as reviews. Because the reviews haven't started, the program's compliance checking hasn't begun. Send the controls for review to start evaluating compliance.

Send a Marketing Program's Controls for Review

Send a program's compliance controls to their reviewers to start the reviews and evaluate compliance.

  1. On the Governance tab of a marketing program, click Send for Review.
Each reviewer gets an email and in-app notification for their assigned compliance reviews.
  2. Track the program's overall compliance status on the Governance tab.
  3. Check the Compliance Status field for each control in the Compliance Reviews list on the Governance tab.
Each row in the list shows the control, Review Status, Compliance Status, reviewer, and date, with a compliance banner.

Each control's reviewer gets a notification and reviews the program. Until every review is complete, you can't send the program for review again. Delete only the controls that you added manually, not the mandatory controls that rules add by default. The program is compliant only when every review is compliant.
