User Permissions Needed
To set up abandoned page triggers: Marketing Triggers Admin permission set

Before you begin, map customer data from your application with the required Data Model Objects (DMOs). For the data model object mappings used by this trigger, see DMO Mappings for Abandoned Page Trigger.

  1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, enter Marketing Features, and then select Triggers.
  2. In the Abandoned Page trigger, click Manage Configuration.
  3. From the trigger configuration page, turn on the trigger.
  4. In the Map Data to Data Model Objects (DMOs) section, verify that all required DMOs are mapped with your customer data.
A check mark next to the DMO indicates that it has been mapped correctly.
  5. In Set Conditions, set the Inactivity Period, which is the time to wait after a customer’s last interaction before this trigger activates.
Set a value between 10 minutes and 7 days.
  6. In Define Inactivity, set the criteria that qualify a shopper as inactive for this trigger.
Default filters are automatically applied, and you can select additional criteria to further refine inactivity. For the abandoned page trigger, No purchase, No product page visit, and No cart activity are applied by default. To refine inactivity, select No website activity.
  7. In Manage Frequency, set the Job Frequency value and unit (minutes, hours, or days).
Job frequency is how often the system evaluates eligible customers and runs the trigger job. Specify a value in minutes (10–59), hours (1–23), or days (1–7). Triggers use data transforms, and each run consumes Data 360 credits, so a higher frequency (more runs) can increase your credit consumption. See Billing Considerations for Data Transforms.
  8. In the Select Channels section, choose one or more channels to send trigger messages, such as Email, SMS or RCS, or WhatsApp.
Make sure that the relevant channels are set up in the org.
  9. If your data uses values other than the defaults for shopper actions, configure custom engagement values so that this trigger matches your data. See Configure Custom Engagement Values for Marketing Triggers.

After setup, marketers can use the Abandoned Page automation event in flows and personalize messages with these fields: Engagement date, Individual ID, First Name, Last Name, Locale, Email Address, Whatsapp Number, SMS and RCS Number, Device ID (MAM), Page Name, Page URL.

The Abandoned Page event provides page-level event context in the flow resource so marketers can reduce unnecessary messages by filtering for the most relevant page activity.
