SSO makes access easier and more secure for everyone. You can connect to Marketing Cloud Intelligence Data Pipelines without another password to manage.
When you set up SSO as the default setting, your identity provider authenticates end users. When a user wants to access MDP, all processes, policies, and security features that were set up with your identity provider are applied. Security features that MDP provides, such as two-step verification or the ability to reset passwords, are no longer in effect because your identity provider handles all aspects of authentication.
Note RelayState redirection within SSO settings isn’t supported. The interaction between MDP and
SSO providers is only via authentication. After users are authenticated, they’re directed to the
relevant workspace and to the default login page in the MDP platform.
After SSO is turned on, users can log in to the MDP platform in two ways.
- Idp initiated login—Using your identity provider portal (SSO vendor) by clicking the Datorama app.
- SP initiated login—Using the Users Direct Login page, which enables you to go directly to your MDP account online if you’re logged in to your identity provider. You could be redirected to the Idp login page. You can find this URL on the Single Sign-On Account Setting page under User Direct Login URL.
