For better journey management and orchestration, we removed the final wait requirement as of the Summer ’25 release. Journeys created after the Summer ’25 release no longer include a final wait activity by default.
Journey Copies and Versions
If you copy a journey created before the Summer ’25 release, the journey structure remains regardless of journey status. The last wait isn’t automatically removed from journeys when you copy them. However, you can remove the final wait activity if it’s not needed.
You built a journey on January 6, 2025, which was created with the default final Wait by Duration before exit. After the Summer ’25 release, you copy this journey, and the last wait activity persists. The last wait isn’t automatically removed in journeys created before the Summer ’25 release or in copies of those journeys.
Journey Goals and Joins
If you want to evaluate contacts against goal criteria one last time before exiting the journey, add a Wait By Duration activity before each exit path. When you configure the final wait activity tof a journey, we suggest setting the duration to be 3 minutes or less.
When you use a Journey Builder join activity, there must be an activity between the join and the exit path.
