An executive workspace incorporates data from other workspaces, so you view and analyze data as if it’s one data pool. Executive workspaces can also function as a regular workspace allowing you to create data streams, and analyze data by creating rules, goals, calculated dimensions, and measurements.
You can upgrade a workspace to an executive workspace when purchasing a Marketing Cloud Intelligence license. For example, if you purchase two workspace licenses and you want an executive workspace license as well, then you must purchase an additional license for the executive workspace.
When using an executive workspace, make sure the custom attributes, measurements, and dimensions are mapped and constructed with similar logic and consistency. For example, if custom classification 1 is defined differently under different workspaces, you can’t slice the data from these workspaces using the custom classification 1 dimension.
Executive workspaces act as a separate unit. Data streams don’t appear under the executive workspace's Data Streams tab, and changes made in the executive workspace don’t apply to the included workspaces. For example, if you change a dimension or measurement display name in the executive workspace, the change isn’t applied to the included workspaces. Furthermore, events added in the included workspaces don’t appear in the executive workspace as well.
