Channel managers create voucher definitions that serve as templates for issuing vouchers to advocates and their referred parties. The values specified in a voucher definition are used to generate the actual vouchers

Here are a few other key fields to consider when you create voucher definitions:
- Effective Date—Select the date from when the voucher definition can be used to issue vouchers.
- Time-Based Voucher Period— Select if you want the vouchers issued by the definition to
expire at a specific time.
- For fixed date type vouchers, you can specify the effective and expiration date time.
- For period type vouchers, you can specify the effective date time and specify the expiration period in minutes, hours, or days.
- Cost Per Voucher—Enter the liability that the company incurs each time a voucher is issued using the definition.
- Partial Redeemable—Select to let advocates and the referred parties use the voucher across multiple purchases. This option is available only for fixed value vouchers.
- Code Prefix, Code Suffix, and Autogenerated Code Length—Enter the prefix, suffix, and length of the voucher code. The prefix and the suffix are used in the unique automatically generated voucher code, and the length determines the voucher code length. If you don’t specify any of these values, a unique eight-character code is generated for each issued voucher. Advocates and the referred parties use their voucher code to redeem their voucher.
- On the Voucher Definitions related list of your referral program, click New.
- Define your voucher definition, and select Active.
- Save your changes.
