Supported Nodes and Data Sources for On-Demand Processing

Review the data sources and transformation nodes compatible with on-demand processing. On-demand mode is optimized for targeted transformations on Salesforce data. Verify that the transformation logic is compatible before you activate a definition.

Supported Data Sources and Writeback Targets

  • Input Data Sources: Salesforce objects, CSV files, and context definitions
  • Output Targets: Salesforce objects and JSON

Node Compatibility

On-demand mode supports most standard Data Processing Engine nodes. Exceptions apply to high-compute statistical functions.

Node or Function Notes
Filter Nodes

Supports 14 filter operators across multiple data types:

Supported operators: Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than, Greater Than or Equals, Less Than, Less Than or Equals, Starts With, Ends With, Contains, Does Not Contain, Is Null, Is Not Null, In, and Not In.

Operator availability by data type:

  • Text and Multipicklist: Equals, Not Equals, Contains, Does Not Contain, Starts With, Ends With, In, Not In, Is Null, Is Not Null
  • Number: Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than, Greater Than or Equals, Less Than, Less Than or Equals, Is Null, Is Not Null
  • Date and DateTime: Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than, Greater Than or Equals, Less Than, Less Than or Equals, Is Null, Is Not Null
  • Time: Equals, Not Equals, Contains, Does Not Contain, Starts With, Ends With, In, Not In, Is Null, Is Not Null
  • Boolean: Equals, Not Equals, Is Null, Is Not Null

Filter condition logic: Combine multiple criteria using All (AND), Any (OR), or a custom boolean expression with AND, OR, and NOT operators.

Dynamic filters are also supported, where filter criteria and values can be passed at runtime via parameters.

Group and Aggregate Statistical aggregate functions such as Standard Deviation, Standard Deviation Population, Variance, and Variance Population aren't supported in on-demand mode.
Writeback Nodes Uses all-or-none behavior. If a job fails, Data Processing Engine doesn't write data to the target object. Instead, it generates a file with the failed records, which you can download from Monitor Workflow Services.
Forecast Nodes Not supported. Use scheduled batch processing for forecasting.
