Although providers are already represented as contacts or person accounts for Intelligent Appointment Management, you must also represent them as service resources for Salesforce Scheduler.
- For asset scheduling, if you haven’t already done so, add the Asset field to the service resource page layout.
-
From the App Launcher, find and select Salesforce Scheduler
Setup.
This app opens up multiple object tabs, including Service Territories, Service Resources, Work Types, and Operating Hours.
- Go to the Service Resources tab.
-
Click New.
- For provider scheduling, select a provider user and enter a resource name—typically, the user's name. For Resource Type, select Technician.
- For asset scheduling, select an asset and enter a resource name. For Resource Type, select Asset.
- Select Active to be able to assign the resource to appointments.
- Save your changes.
