CME - DRO Move Order

Move orders synchronize the de-provisioning of equipment at an old location with its re-installation to a new one, ensuring the transfer of the location-dependent services. The system distinguishes the "Move" actions from standard adds or cancels, helps operators to trigger specialized fulfillment logic for relocated assets.

Move Asset to Different Locations:

When you request an asset relocation (move order). The system provisions physical equipment at the new address and de-provisions it from the original location. Similarly, the service linked to that equipment needs activation at the new location and cancellation at the old one. However, services that aren't location-dependent continue smoothly.

Some use case scenarios for such instances:

  • The router and internet service ‌to move and reactivate at the new location canceling it at the old location. The email service is to stay active.
  • Set the power equipment, such as generators and switches again at the new location. However, the equipment's warranty remains unchanged.
  • After the lease of the X-Ray machine, the hospital moves the equipment to the new location.

Action: To finish this order, set a plan for the new items installation (provisioned or committed) after the old item removal (de-provisioned or committed).

Result: DRO interprets intent by analyzing actions on order lines and their underlying relationships. The system evaluates the specific movement data associated with these line items to coordinate the transfer. Further, it decomposes the order to generate FOLIs that have add or cancel actions to specify the Fulfillment Action (FA).

However, each FOLI captures whether the Cancel or Add action is due to asset movement between the locations. This leads the operator to design scenarios. These actions are specific to add or cancel products for a move order, which are different than the normal Add or Cancel order.
