About the Data 360 Marketing Agent

The Data 360 Marketing Agent helps you with segmentation in Data 360. Describe what you want in natural language, and the agent works in the Agentforce panel to complete the request.

Required Editions

Available in: All Editions supported by Data 360. See Data 360 edition availability.

The Data 360 Marketing Agent is available by default to all users who have the required permission set. To turn it off, go to the Feature Manager page in Setup and click Disable next to Data 360 Marketing Agent.

Open the agent from the Agentforce icon in the global header, and pin the Agentforce panel beside the page you’re working on. You describe what you want, the agent asks about anything it can’t work out from your data model, and you can answer by picking one of the options it offers or by replying in your own words.

The agent doesn’t replace the segmentation or activation canvases. It gets you to a result faster, and you review and complete the work in the canvas as you normally would.

Note This feature is unavailable in Free and Trial organisations.

Before You Begin

In Feature Manager, enable Metadata Knowledge Graph and Semantic Enrichments. The Data 360 Marketing Agent relies on it to return accurate results.

Access the Agent

Go to the Segments page and click the Agentforce icon in the global header. The Agentforce panel opens. If the panel opens on a different agent, select Data 360 Marketing Agent from the menu next to the agent name.

Choose a Mode

The agent works in two modes. Use one mode for the whole conversation. Don’t switch pages in the middle of a request, for example by opening a segment from the Segments page, or by leaving the canvas and going back to the list.

Create a segment (from a Data 360 page)
When you aren’t on the segment canvas, for example when you’re on the Segments page, the agent confirms the segment type and publish schedule, then creates a segment and generates a name and description for it. Your canvas doesn’t update as the agent works.
Add filters (from the segment canvas)
When a segment is open on the segment canvas, the agent adds new criteria alongside the filters already there. Filters can appear on the canvas as the agent works. Save the segment yourself; the agent doesn’t save. If the agent returns an Add filters button in the Agentforce panel, click it to apply the filters, then save.
Tip
Tip Work on the segment canvas whenever you can. Adding filters on the canvas gives you better feedback and lets you validate the segment as the agent builds it.

What Influences Agent Behavior

Several things shape what the agent can build and what it asks you:

  • Your data model, including object and field names. The agent searches the attribute library the same way you would.
  • Match and reconciliation rules, which generate the derived relationships that determine which objects the agent can reach from your Segment On object. If no path exists, the agent tells you and offers a different attribute.
  • Whether an attribute appears in the segment canvas at all. Attributes that identify a record or link two objects don’t. See Segment Canvas.
  • The saved state of your segment. The agent reads the last saved version, not unsaved changes on your canvas. Save before asking the agent to work with the current criteria.
  • The data space you’re working in.

Sample Utterances

  • Build a segment of customers in California who spent over $500 last quarter.
  • Create a segment of women aged 30 to 50 who live in Chicago or Boston.
  • Create a segment of loyalty members with at least three orders in the past year, but exclude anyone who unsubscribed.
  • Add a filter for customers who visited the pricing page last week.
  • Build a Segment by Describing It
Describe the audience you want in plain language, and the Data 360 Marketing Agent works out the filter criteria and creates a segment for you. The agent builds standard and nested segments, and filters can include calculated insights.
  • Add Filters to a Segment
With a segment open on the segment canvas, the Data 360 Marketing Agent adds filters to that segment instead of creating a new one. Work on the canvas whenever you can. The canvas gives you better feedback and lets you validate the segment as the agent builds it.
