Point of Sale allows you to create orders for custom-made items by capturing product attributes through a layout. A new product is created at runtime in Point of Sale. You can create a custom order from a basic part or product to add specific fabrics, textures, and styles. Creating custom orders helps to deliver a personalized and unique product for each customer.

Custom Orders in the POS App
Store associates can capture specific attributes for special-order items at checkout. Point of Sale supports customized product returns through configured product classes or external order master settings.
Sales
Store associates can see the Custom Order option in the options panel of the checkout screen.
When a store associate selects Special Item, a layout to enter custom attributes for the item appears. Store associates can capture the required attributes of the custom item being ordered by the customer.
After the store associate enters the details for the item and adds the item to the cart, they can see the item and details in the cart.
Store associates can check the attributes of the custom item and edit the values by clicking View & Edit which is available at the line item.
Returns
Point of Sale supports customized product returns through two methods. If the custom product has a configured product class, returnability can be set accordingly. Alternatively, for merchants using an external master, products can be marked as not eligible for return by setting the returnsEligibility field in the Get Order SPI.
