Anticipating customer needs by understanding their preferences strengthens their experience. You can configure Point of Sale to collect and store customer preferences in their profiles. To gather information about customers, create a preference quiz.
Edit the App Config Settings
There are two entry points for customers to interact with a preference quiz:
- First-Time Users–Customers who haven't taken the quiz yet need to be administered it for the first time.
- Returning Users—Customers who have already taken the quiz should be able to view and edit their answers.
A quiz template is recommended because it accommodates both of these workflows. When a quiz is created from a template, first-time users see a starting layout when they begin the quiz. There's also an Answers Layout that displays previous responses and provides links to edit them.
- Edit the app config settings.
-
If you're not using a custom clienteling layout, first assign the quiz workflow to an
app config so it shows up in the app.
There are two app config settings to configure, which correspond with the two entry points to the quiz workflow.
- In CMS, go to .
- Edit a selected app config.
- Go to .
- Under User Preferences Layout, select the Answers Layout you created.
- Under User Preferences Quiz Layout, select the first page of the quiz.
- Save your changes.
