Field Mappings

The app locates a Dynamic Review Layout from the product attributes. This is accomplished by mapping the layout ID to the ReviewFormType target field in the product Field Mappings.

Locating the Layout ID

  1. Go to Layout Pages | All Layouts
  2. Locate the Dynamic Review Layout and click EDIT LAYOUT
  3. Copy the layout ID from the end of the URLThe layout ID at the end of the layout URL.

Mapping One Dynamic Review Layout

To use one write review layout for all products:

  1. Go to Feeds | Field Mappings
  2. Map ID to ReviewFormType
  3. Add a regex replace all transformation to the mapping (see below)
  4. Save the field mappings and run the feed

Regex Replace All

  • Regex: ^.*$
  • Replace: [LAYOUT_ID]
  • Group Index: [empty]

Mapping Many Dynamic Review Layouts

To map different Dynamic Review Layouts to different products, the product feed needs to have the concept of a product class. Create a mapping of the product class field to the ReviewFormType field and use a composite (multiple operations) transformation:

  1. Go to Feeds | Field Mappings
  2. Map the product class field to ReviewFormType
  3. Add a composite (multiple operations) transformation to the mapping (see below)
  4. Save the field mappings and run the feed

Let's say that your product class has two possible values, "1" or "2". Products with a class of "1" should be mapped to one layout ID and products with a class of "2" should be mapped to another. Here is what the transformation function would look like:

  • Composite (Multiple Operations):
  • Regex Replace All
  • Regex: ^1$
  • Replace: [Layout_ID_1]
  • Group Index: 0
  • Regex Replace All
  • Regex: ^2$
  • Replace: [Layout_ID_2]
  • Group Index: 0
