# Set Up a Dynamic Review Layout

Customize review forms for different products using Point of Sale dynamic review layouts. Map specific layouts to product classes to ensure a tailored review experience, improving user engagement and feedback quality.

Dynamic Review Layouts allows you to design write review layouts using the Layout Editor. With Field Mappings, you can map different write review layouts to different products.

## Enable Product Ratings

The Product Ratings app config setting must be enabled to use Dynamic Review Layouts:

1. Click **EDIT CONFIG** from the CMS homepage.
2. Go to **MODULES** | **RATINGS & REVIEWS**.
3. Enable Product Ratings.
4. Click **SAVE**.

## Create a Dynamic Review Layout

The Dynamic Review Layouts is created as a normal layout.

1. Go to **Layouts** | **All Layouts**
2. Click **Add Blank Layout**

## Product Image

To add the product image to the layout:

1. Select a cell
2. Select **Product Fields** | **Image**

## Product Title

To add the product image to the layout:

1. Select a cell
2. Select **Product Fields** | **Title**

Note The height of the row with the product title isn't resizable in the CMS. Depending on the length of the title, the app allots the required space to render the whole title.

## Cell Settings (e.g., Font)

To configure the look and feel of the cell with the product title:

1. Select the cell with the product title
2. Select **Product Fields** | **Cell Settings**
3. Configure the settings and click **SAVE**

## Star Rating

The rating component allows the user to give a star rating.

1. Select a cell
2. Select **Cell Content** | **Form Element** | **Rating**
3. Specify the field's key and fill color
4. Click **SET FIELD**

## Other User Inputs

Other user inputs like dropdown lists and text fields are configured as form elements. To add additional user inputs to the layout:

1. Select a cell
2. Select **Cell Content** | **Form Element**
3. Configure the form element and click **SET FIELD**

These inputs are commonly used in a write review layout:

- Checkbox
- Dropdown List
- Photo Uploader
- Text Input

## Submit Review Button

The submit review button is configured as a form element with a button action of "Submit Review."

1. Select a cell
2. Select **Cell Content** | **Form Element** | **Button**
3. Specify the button text (e.g., "SUBMIT REVIEW")
4. For the Button Action select Submit Review
5. Click **SET FIELD**

Tip To edit a form element double click the cell.

## Field Mappings

The app locates a Dynamic Review Layout from the product attributes. This is accomplished by mapping the layout ID to the ReviewFormType target field in the product Field Mappings.

## Locating the Layout ID

1. Go to **Layout Pages** | **All Layouts**
2. Locate the Dynamic Review Layout and click **EDIT LAYOUT**
3. Copy the layout ID from the end of the URL![The layout ID at the end of the layout URL.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_cms_layouts_templates_review_layout_id.png)

## Mapping One Dynamic Review Layout

To use one write review layout for all products:

1. Go to **Feeds** | **Field Mappings**
2. Map ID to ReviewFormType
3. Add a regex replace all transformation to the mapping (see below)
4. Save the field mappings and run the feed

Regex Replace All

- Regex: ^.\*$
- Replace: \[LAYOUT\_ID\]
- Group Index: \[empty\]

## Mapping Many Dynamic Review Layouts

To map different Dynamic Review Layouts to different products, the product feed needs to have the concept of a product class. Create a mapping of the product class field to the ReviewFormType field and use a composite (multiple operations) transformation:

1. Go to **Feeds** | **Field Mappings**
2. Map the product class field to ReviewFormType
3. Add a composite (multiple operations) transformation to the mapping (see below)
4. Save the field mappings and run the feed

Let's say that your product class has two possible values, "1" or "2". Products with a class of "1" should be mapped to one layout ID and products with a class of "2" should be mapped to another. Here is what the transformation function would look like:

- Composite (Multiple Operations):
- Regex Replace All
- Regex: ^1$
- Replace: \[Layout\_ID\_1\]
- Group Index: 0
- Regex Replace All
- Regex: ^2$
- Replace: \[Layout\_ID\_2\]
- Group Index: 0
