App Configs in Point of Sale CMS

Customize and manage multiple app configs to tailor the appearance and behavior of POS for different use cases or segments, ensuring each register uses the most appropriate settings for its specific scenario. This flexibility enhances user experience and operational efficiency.

Examples of App Configs

To take an example, a merchant might want one app config for managers, with access to performance reports or other privileged functionality, and another app config for associates with limited access. Another example might be configuring an app config based on the type of checkout process, mobile POS for on-the-go transactions or fixed registers with peripheral scanner and terminal use.

App Config Segmentation Criteria

An app config’s segment is determined by three criteria:

  1. Device Type (iPad vs. iPhone)
  2. Personnel (based on role or individual associate)
  3. Location (based on store group or store)

Each app config a merchant creates must be targeted to a unique segment defined by any combination of those three criteria. Then, registers in that segment will receive the corresponding app config.
