Enable a Message in Commerce Messaging

After you’ve customized your message template, enable the message to begin sending messages. When a message is enabled, a flow is created for that message and store. The flow waits for specific events, like the placement of an order, and triggers message sending using Marketing Cloud services.

Important
Important To prevent sending duplicate messages to your customers, disable all external or third-party messaging services before you enable a message.
  1. In the navigation sidebar, select Settings | Messaging.
  2. Within a message tile, enable the message.
  3. Each message uses Flow to trigger the sending of messages. The flow name uses a format similar to MessageNameFlow_StoreName, for example, SendAbandonedCartFlow_NTOStore. To view or edit the flow, click the drop-down and select Edit Flow. In Flow Builder, you can extend the flow to include other elements or actions.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Back to return to the Messaging workspace.

If you disable a message, its corresponding flow is deactivated. When you re-enable the message, the most recent version of the flow is copied and activated.
