When you configure the manual Salesforce tax solution for B2B Commerce, you configure
tax rates and tax treatments. A tax rate specifies the percentage at which a product is taxed
and the country, state, or province where that rate applies. A tax treatment maps the tax rate
to products. A tax policy includes all the tax treatments for your store’s products.
Required Editions
-
From the App Launcher, search for and select Tax Rates.
-
Click New.
-
If you're using tax codes to calculate the taxes on a product, then enter a tax
code.
-
Enter the geo country or geo state where the rate applies.
-
Enter a tax percentage for the rate.
-
Enter a priority.
The priority number determines which tax rate applies first. The lower the number, the
higher the priority. If a tax code has both a country and state tax rate associated with
it, the priority determines the order in which the tax is calculated. If two tax rates
have the same priority, they're added together and applied to the product price. If you
don't enter a priority number, the tax rate is evaluated last.
If your org has only
Commerce licenses, the Tax Rate record enforces a unique key constraint on the
combination of the tax code, geo country, and geo state. You can't create duplicate tax
rates with identical values for these three fields. If your org has Revenue Cloud
licenses (or a combination of Revenue Cloud and Commerce licenses), no unique key
constraint is enforced on Tax Rate.
Repeat these steps to create tax rates and treatments for all products included in the
store’s tax policy. Create a tax treatment for each tax rate. See Create a Tax Treatment.
