Resolve Asynchronous Order Failures for a B2B Store

When an asynchronous order fails with a PlaceOrderFailed exception, the exception is converted into a process exception record. You can then view the record and investigate the cause of the error. After you fix the problem and change the record’s status to Resolved, the Retrigger Place Order flow resubmits the order.

Which Salesforce Commerce Product Do I Have?

Before you complete these steps, configure sharing settings for the Commerce admin to activate the Retrigger Place Order flow.

  1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
  2. Select Orders.
  3. Click an order summary, and navigate to the Related tab.
  4. In the Process Exceptions section, if a process exception status is new and the type is PlaceOrderFailed, open the exception.
  5. Investigate and, if possible, fix the problem that caused the failure.
  6. After the problem is fixed, change the exception record’s status to Resolved.
Changing the record’s status to Resolved causes the Retrigger Place Order flow to place the order again.
