Workspaces, dashboards, visualizations, and semantic models are, by default, private to the users who create them. To let other users view or edit an asset, share it with them. Assets can be shared with analytics groups. You can also set the general access for the asset so that all users in an org can view or edit the asset.
The access roles for an asset are viewer, editor, and owner. Viewers can interact with the asset, ask questions about the asset and get answers, and see all the fields that the asset uses. Editors can modify the asset. Owners can delete and share the asset.

The creator of an asset and users who reuse that asset have the owner role.
Access for semantic models
To access a semantic model, users must also have access to the data space that the model belongs to. For information about adding users to a data space, see Assign a Data Space Permission Set to a Data 360 User.
Some semantic models extend existing semantic models. If the semantic model that you share extends a base model, users can’t view that semantic model unless they have access to the base model.
By granting users access to a semantic model, you grant those users access to the metrics that are part of that semantic model. You can't manage access for individual metrics.
Access for data model objects and data lake objects
Access to data model objects and data lake objects is controlled by tags and policies set in Data 360. For more information about how data policies work with Tableau Next, see Data Governance and Sharing in Tableau Next. If users have access to a visualization but don’t have access to the data that the visualization is based on, they can access the visualization URL, but they don’t see the visualization.
- Share Assets in Tableau Next
Share and grant other users access to workspaces, dashboards, visualizations, and semantic models in Tableau Next. You can grant users and groups access to an asset, and you can set the general access for an asset for all users in an org. - Remove Access for Assets in Tableau Next
Remove access to a workspace, dashboard, visualization, or semantic model so that users can no longer view or edit that asset in Tableau Next. You can remove access for individual users, and you can restrict the general access for the asset so that only users who are individually added can access the asset. - Copy a Link to a Visualization or Dashboard in Tableau Next
Get a link to a Tableau visualization or dashboard in its current or default view. The current view is the visualization or dashboard as you see it, with any modifications you’ve made. The default view is the visualization or dashboard without filters, selections, or other modifications applied.
