Connect to Azure PostgreSQL

Bring your Azure PostgreSQL data into Tableau Next with the Azure PostgreSQL connector.

Connect to Azure PostgreSQL

  1. In a Tableau Next workspace, click Add.
  2. Select Data, and then select From Connector.
  3. Locate and select the Azure PostgreSQL connector.
  4. Configure the connection details, and then click Sign In.

All settings require a value, unless otherwise indicated.

   
Connection Name Identifies the connections. Use a convention that lets you easily distinguish between different connections.
Username Enter username.
Password Enter password.
Connection URL

Database URL of the Azure PostgreSQL database.

URL format is

URL format is {hostname}.postgres.database.azure.com{:port}

Hostnames are 1–63 lowercase letters (a–z), numbers (0–9), or hyphens (-). Hostnames can’t start or end with ‌a hyphen.

The port is optional. If included, the port is 4–5 numbers (0–9) and prefixed with a colon (:).
Database Name of the database.
Schema Database schema.
