# Validate Installation

To validate that Tableau Server is installed and running properly and to review the built-in administrative views, you must install the PostgreSQL driver.

## Prerequisites

Before proceeding with the procedure in this topic, complete the following prerequisites as outlined in [Install and Configure Tableau Server](https://help.tableau.com/v0.0/server-linux/en-gb/install_config_top.htm):

- [Install and Initialise TSM](https://help.tableau.com/v0.0/server-linux/en-gb/setup.htm)
- [Activate and Register Tableau Server](https://help.tableau.com/v0.0/server-linux/en-gb/activate.htm)
- [Configure Initial Node Settings](https://help.tableau.com/v0.0/server-linux/en-gb/config_general.htm)
- [Add an Administrator Account](https://help.tableau.com/v0.0/server-linux/en-gb/startup.htm)

## Install PostgresSQL driver and validate installation

To validate installation:

1. Download PostgreSQL drivers from the [Driver Download page](https://www.tableau.com/en-gb/support/drivers).
2. Copy the .jar file to this folder (you may have to create it manually): `/opt/tableau/tableau_driver/jdbc`.
3. Restart TSM:
    
    `tsm restart`
4. To validate that the drivers installed, navigate to the [Administrative Views](https://help.tableau.com/v0.0/server-linux/en-gb/adminview.htm) in Tableau Server.
