# Tableau Server on the Google Cloud Platform deployment options

## Introduction

You can deploy Tableau Server on a Google Compute Engine (GCE) virtual machine (VM). A Tableau Server deployment on GCE supports the following:

- **Self-Deploy to Google Compute Engine VM** – Provides the most flexibility and options to customise Tableau Server to your environment.
    
    Self-deployment of Tableau Server on a Google Compute Engine VM is recommended for development, test, and production environments that start simple but may need to scale later.
