# Multidimensional Hierarchies

Multidimensional data sources contain hierarchies. For example, your database might contain a Product dimension that includes members such as product family, product department, and so on organised into a hierarchy, or you might have a Time dimension that includes years, quarters and months.

**Note**: In Tableau, multidimensional data sources are supported only in Windows.
