# Step 3: Enable Generative AI

> [!WARNING]
>
> As of October 14, 2025, Data Cloud has been rebranded to Data 360. During this transition, you may see references to Data Cloud in our application and documentation. While the name is new, the functionality and content remains unchanged.

**Who does this step?** Salesforce Admin

**About this step:** Although not required, many integral Tableau Next features use AI. This step should be done if you plan to use Analytics Agent, Data Pro, Concierge, AI-assisted modeling, or if you plan to capture feedback and auditing data.

**Note:** This step is optional but highly recommended for full functionality of Tableau Next.

## Set up Einstein Generative AI

**Why:** Turn on Einstein to use generative AI features across Salesforce.

How to do it

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, type in Einstein Setup and select Einstein Setup.
2. Turn on Turn on Einstein.

**Note:** If you can’t find Einstein Setup, ensure that your org meets the prerequisites for any generative AI features you plan to use. For more support, contact your Salesforce Account Executive (AE).

## Set up Einstein Trust Layer

**Why:** The Einstein Trust Layer enforces privacy and security for AI features.

How to do it

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, type `Einstein`, and then select Einstein Trust Layer. The Trust Layer setup page includes two tabs, one for LLM data masking and one for content safety and security.
2. Data Masking is enabled by default. On the Data Masking tab, enable data masking if it’s turned off to allow the Einstein Trust Layer to detect and mask sensitive data. To understand the different options available for data masking, review the content at the top of the page. Individual entities or categories can be turned off or on. It can take a few minutes for the changes to take effect. Data Masking is disabled for agents.

## Turn on Einstein Generative AI data collection and storage

**Why:** Required to save feedback and auditing data.

How to do it

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, type `Einstein Audit`, and then select Einstein Audit, Analytics, and Monitoring Setup.
2. On the Einstein Audit, Analytics, and Monitoring Setup page, turn on Audit and Feedback.
3. Select a target [data space](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_spaces.htm) in which to store the audit and feedback data.
4. If you’re using Data Cloud One companion connection to connect your orgs to Data Cloud, you’ll only see the data spaces that are shared with your companion org.
5. Verify that the [pre-built reports and dashboards are installed and available](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.generative_ai_feedback_install_report.htm). It can take a few minutes for the installation to complete.
6. If you want to protect access to collected data that is sensitive, see [Implement Data Governance Permissions for Audit and Feedback Objects](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.generative_ai_feedback_data_governance.htm&type=5).

You can turn off data collection and storage at any time. When you turn off data collection and storage, the data stream collecting the data pauses.

For more information about Einstein Generative AI, see [Turn on Einstein Generative AI data collection and storage](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.generative_ai_feedback_enable.htm).

## Enable Agentforce

**Why:** To start building, customizing, testing, and launching AI agents.

How to do it

1. From Setup, in the Quick Find box, type Agent, and then select Agentforce Agents. If you don’t see Agents in Setup, verify that Einstein Generative AI is enabled for your org.

1. To enable Agentforce, turn on the Agentforce.

## You’re done!
