# Using VizQL Data Service with Postman

🕐 _1 min read_

[Postman](https://www.postman.com/) is a popular collaboration platform for application programming interface (API) development. It provides tools for designing, testing, and managing APIs, making it easier for you to work with and understand the functionality of APIs.

To help you onboard to VizQL Data Service, we’ve added a VizQL Data Service folder to the existing [Tableau API’s Postman collection](https://github.com/tableau/tableau-postman). (See here in [Postman](https://www.postman.com/salesforce-developers/salesforce-developers/collection/x06mp2m/tableau-apis)) For more information about signing in using the REST API, see [Get Started Tutorial Part 1: Tools, REST Basics, and Sign In](https://help.tableau.com/current/api/rest_api/en-us/REST/rest_api_get_started_tutorial_part_1.htm).

Once you’ve authenticated and populated the `datasource-id` field in your environment variables, go to the VizQL Data Service folder to see query examples. You can also navigate to the Sample Workflows folder and find the VizQL Data Service example workflow.
