# Predictive Modelling

Predictive modelling functions in Tableau use linear regression to build predictive models and generate predictions about your data. Two [table calculations](https://help.tableau.com/current/pro/desktop/en-gb/calculations_tablecalculations.htm), MODEL\_PERCENTILE and MODEL\_QUANTILE, can generate predictions and surface relationships within your data. These can be used to identify outliers, estimate values for sparse or missing data, and predict values for future time periods.

This section provides all the documentation you need to get started with predictive modelling functions in Tableau.
