# Tracing Module 1.3

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Tracing module enables you to enhance your logs by adding, removing, and clearing all variables from
the logging context for a given Mule event. It also enables you to modify the correlation ID during
flow execution and add custom attributes to a transaction’s root span.

For compatibility information and fixed issues, see the Tracing Module Release Notes.

## Before You Begin

To use this module, you must be familiar with:

- Anypoint Connectors

- Mule runtime engine (Mule)

- Elements and global elements in a Mule flow

- Creating a Mule app using Anypoint Code Builder

Before creating an app, you must have Anypoint Platform and Anypoint Code Builder.

## Next Step

After you complete the prerequisites, you are ready to create your own app and configure the
connector using [Anypoint Code Builder](https://docs.mulesoft.com/tracing-module/latest/tracing-module-config-acb).
