# Configure XULRunner as Anypoint Studio Default Layout Engine (macOS)

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Set XULRunner as the default layout engine for Anypoint Studio on macOS by pointing the Studio
configuration file to your XULRunner binaries.

1.  Download `XULRunner` (we recommend
    [v24.0](http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/xulrunner/releases/24.0/runtimes/)).

2. Unzip your package and install it.

3. Go to your `/Applications` folder, right click the AnypointStudio.app package and select
    `Show Package Contents`.

4.  Navigate to `Contents > Eclipse` and open your AnypointStudio.ini file.

5. Add a `-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath=` variable with the full path to your XULRunner
    binaries:

    \-Dorg.eclipse.swt.browser.XULRunnerPath={YourXULRunnerFolder}

    > [!TIP] XULRunner binaries are located in a subfolder within the directory where you extracted
    > the XULRunner package: `XUL.framework/Versions/Current/`
