# Configure Private Cloud Edition in Anypoint Studio (Windows)

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Anypoint Studio 7.12 and later supports native integration with Anypoint Platform Private Cloud
Edition (PCE) versions 3.0.0, 3.0.1, and 3.0.2. On Windows, add your PCE certificate to the JDK that
Studio uses.

Starting with Anypoint Studio 7.17, the default JDK version for Studio is Java 17. To ensure proper
functionality, add the certificate to the default JDK version that Studio supports.

- If you use an external JDK, add the certificate to the external JDK that you use with Studio.

- If you use the default JDK Studio provides, add the certificate to the default JDK, regardless of
  the JDK version you use in your project. After installing the certificate, if you have Studio
  open, restart it.

## Configure Your PCE Certificates Into Studio

Follow these steps to integrate your Studio installation with the Anypoint Platform components in a
PCE deployment:

1. Open your browser and navigate to your PCE instance URL.

2. Your browser displays a **Your connection is not private** error.

3. Click the **Not secure** section in your URL bar, and select **Certificate**.

4. In the **Certificate** UI, navigate to the **Details** tab and select **Copy to File…**.

5. In the **Certificate Export Wizard** select **Base-64 encoded X.509 (.CER)**, and click
    **Next**.

6. Select a destination folder in your computer and click **Finish**.

8. In the **Certificate Import Wizard**, select **Place all certificates in the following store**
    and type **Trusted Root Certification Authorities**.

11. Add your `.cer` file certificate to your Studio embedded Java cacerts keystore:

    ```none
    bin\keytool -importcert ^
    -keystore [cacerts_path] ^ (1)
    -storepass [pass] ^ (2)
    -alias [alias] ^ (3)
    -file [certificate_name].cer (4)
    ```

    <table><tbody><tr><td><i data-value="1"></i><b>1</b></td><td><code>cacerts_path</code> is your Anypoint Studio artifact.<br>For example:<div><ul><li><p>Java 11: <code>AnypointStudio\plugins\org.mule.tooling.jdk.win32.x86_64_1.1.5\lib\security\cacerts</code>.</p></li><li><p>Java 8: <code>AnypointStudio\plugins\org.mule.tooling.jdk.v8.win32.x86_64_1.1.5\jre\lib\security\cacerts</code>.</p></li></ul></div></td></tr><tr><td><i data-value="2"></i><b>2</b></td><td><code>pass</code> is your cacerts keys store password.<br>Java default cacerts password is <code>changeit</code>.</td></tr><tr><td><i data-value="3"></i><b>3</b></td><td><code>alias</code> is the name your certificate gets when you save it in the keystore.</td></tr><tr><td><i data-value="4"></i><b>4</b></td><td><code>certificate_name</code> is the path to the .cer file generated and saved in the previous step.</td></tr></tbody></table>

12. In Studio, open the preferences view.
    Navigate to **Window** > **Preferences…**.

13. Type the URL of your PCE installation in the **Private Cloud Instance URL** field.

    ![\*Private Cloud Instance URL\* field highlighted in the \*Preferences\* window](/mulesoft/current/en-us/studio/_images/pce-properties.png)

14. Select **Apply and Close**.

15. Restart Studio.

## Configure your PCE User Login

The first time you configure your user’s login, Studio asks you to confirm your PCE certificate:

1.  Open the preferences view.
    Navigate to **Anypoint Studio** > **Preferences…**.

2. Expand **Anypoint Studio** in the left navigation bar, select **Authentication** > **Add**.

    ![\*Authentication\* tab and \*Add\* button highlighted in the \*Preferences\* window](/mulesoft/current/en-us/studio/_images/preferences-authentication-add.png)

3. Add your PCE credentials and sign-in.

4.  Select **Apply and Close**.
