# Mule Maven Plugin 4.9.0 Release Notes

The Mule Maven plugin enables you to integrate the packaging and deployment of your Mule
applications with your Maven lifecycle.

Mule Maven Plugin 4.9.0 implements all security updates and bug fixes from 4.8.0.

## What’s New

- This release includes fixes for vulnerabilities.

- You can now specify deployment properties using the `propertiesFile` parameter instead of defining
  them inline. This option is supported for deployments to
  [CloudHub](https://docs.mulesoft.com/mule-runtime/latest/deploy-to-cloudhub#cloudhub-deploy-reference),
  [CloudHub 2.0](https://docs.mulesoft.com/mule-runtime/latest/deploy-to-cloudhub-2#cloudhub2-deploy-reference),
  [Anypoint Runtime Fabric](https://docs.mulesoft.com/mule-runtime/latest/deploy-to-rtf#rtf-deploy-reference), and
  [On-Premises](https://docs.mulesoft.com/mule-runtime/latest/deploy-on-premises#arm-deploy-reference).

- Microsoft Windows 10

- Apple macOS X 10.15.0+

- Linux (tested on Ubuntu 22)

- Java 8, 11, 17, and 21

- Maven 3.9.0 to 3.9.14

> [!NOTE] Mule Maven plugin supports Java 8, 11, 17, and 21. The `minMuleVersion` specified in your
> Mule application must be compatible with the Java version used to run the plugin.
