# VM Connector Release Notes

Anypoint Connector for VM enables communication between apps or within an app through asynchronous
queues. The asynchronous queues can be either transient or persistent.

This connector is pre-installed in Anypoint Studio 7 and later.

### Features

The main difference between this version and previous versions is how the `publish-consume`
operation manages errors:

- In previous versions, if the flow at the receiving end failed, the operation failed with a
  `VM:QUEUE_TIMEOUT` error.

- In this version, a `VM:PUBLISH_CONSUMER_FLOW_ERROR` is thrown instead, signaling the difference
  between a timeout and an actual failure.

It’s still possible for the `publish-consume` operation to fail with a timeout error if the
receiving flow doesn’t fail, but also doesn’t respond in time.

### Fixed Issues

- `validateNoListenerOnQueue` failed with a null pointer exception (NPE) when generating the error
  message. (MULE-15236)

- Listener did not send a response when an error occurred in the flow. (MULE-15217)

- `publish-consume` with transactions was broken. (MULE-15214)
