## 1.16.5

**October 2, 2026**

### What’s New

- You can opt in to surfacing errors from later statements in Microsoft SQL Server **Execute
script** operations by setting the JVM system property
`mule.db.connector.sqlserver.surface.script.errors=true`. The property is disabled by default to
preserve existing behavior and affects only SQL Server **Execute script** operations. Because this
is a JVM-level setting, it applies to all applications in the Mule runtime. Configure it
consistently on every worker or replica and restart the runtime after changing JVM arguments. This
option improves the visibility of errors within a script; it does not automatically resolve all
  SQL Server errors.

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

## 1.16.4

**September 3, 2026**

### What’s New

- This release includes general security fixes.

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 1.16.3

**August 25, 2026**

### What’s New

- This connector version requires Mule runtime 4.6.22 or later if you’re using Mule 4.6.x, or Mule
runtime 4.9.9 or later if you’re using Mule 4.9.x. If you prefer not to upgrade your Mule runtime,
use the connector version released immediately after this one.

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Issue Resolution</th><th>ID</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>On the Database <strong>On Table Row</strong> listener source, the <code>useColumnNumbers</code> setting is now honored both at runtime and at design time (DataSense). Previously the source ignored the flag: emitted rows were always keyed by column name and metadata always showed column names, even when <code>useColumnNumbers</code> was set to <code>true</code>. Rows and metadata are now keyed by column number when the option is enabled, matching the <code>Select</code> and <code>Query Single</code> operations.</p></td><td><p>W-21982686</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>com.mchange:c3p0</code> component is upgraded to 0.14.1.</p></td><td><p>W-23664719</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>com.mchange:mchange-commons-java</code> component is upgraded to 0.6.1.</p></td><td><p>W-23664719</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 1.16.2

**July 23, 2026**

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Issue Resolution</th><th>ID</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>On Oracle, metadata resolution no longer stalls or fails for a packaged stored procedure whose owning schema differs from the connection user. A two-part <code>PACKAGE.PROCEDURE</code> call to a foreign-owned package (for example, an Oracle E-Business Suite public-synonym topology) now returns its parameter metadata correctly.</p></td><td><p>W-22852899</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>On Oracle, inserting a value into an <code>XMLTYPE</code> column no longer fails with a <code>ClassCastException</code> error (surfaced as <code>DB:QUERY_EXECUTION</code>) when connection pooling is enabled. Pooled <code>XMLTYPE</code> inserts now succeed, as they already do without pooling.</p></td><td><p>W-22895195</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 1.16.1

**June 24, 2026**

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Issue Resolution</th><th>ID</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>On Microsoft SQL Server, the connector no longer fails with a <code>The statement is closed</code> error when prepared-statement caching is enabled with connection pooling. The connector now defaults the <code>markSessionBoundaries</code> pool property to <code>if-no-statement-cache</code> for SQL Server when a statement cache is active, and an explicit user-provided value continues to take precedence.</p></td><td><p>W-22560183</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>sql</code> parameter now renders as a text input field in Anypoint Code Builder. Previously, the field was advertised with a metadata key resolver and appeared as an empty dynamic dropdown.</p></td><td><p>W-22901825</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Stored-procedure calls that mix hardcoded literal arguments with named placeholders now bind each placeholder to its correct parameter position. Previously, a placeholder following a literal could be bound against the wrong column type, causing a <code>NumberFormatException</code> at runtime.</p></td><td><p>W-16842191</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Stored-procedure connections are now released on the error path, preventing a connection leak when a stored-procedure call fails.</p></td><td><p>W-22940258</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>Backtick-quoted identifiers now correctly escape special characters.</p></td><td><p>W-17922848</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The Oracle NLS timestamp <code>String</code> binding is restored, so Oracle timestamp values bind correctly.</p></td><td><p>W-21816663</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><code>ORA-17008 Closed Connection</code> errors that could occur on Oracle in batch and streaming LOB workloads are resolved.</p></td><td><p>W-22311048</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>com.google.guava:guava</code> component is upgraded to 33.6.0-jre.</p></td><td><p>W-3300013</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>commons-io:commons-io</code> component is upgraded to 2.22.0.</p></td><td><p>W-3300013</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>org.apache.commons:commons-lang3</code> component is upgraded to 3.20.0.</p></td><td><p>W-3300013</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 1.16.0

**May 20, 2026**

### What’s New

- Database Connector now provides a configurable LOB (CLOB/BLOB) resource release strategy via the
`mule.db.connector.lob.free.strategy` system property. Available strategies are `EAGER` (default),
`DEFERRED`, and `NONE`, enabling users to tune performance for queries returning many LOB columns,
particularly with Oracle databases. Refer to
  [Troubleshoot LOB Resource Release Performance](https://docs.mulesoft.com/db-connector/latest/database-connector-troubleshooting#troubleshoot-lob-resource-release-performance).
  (W-22181640)

- The default value of the **Cache Query Template Size** configuration parameter is changed from
`50` to `1000`, improving performance for applications that use a large number of distinct SQL
  queries. (W-21868167)

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Issue Resolution</th><th>ID</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>The <code>useColumnNumbers</code> parameter now correctly influences metadata resolution (DataSense). Previously, setting this parameter to <code>true</code> did not affect the metadata keys returned by the connector.</p></td><td><p>W-21218595</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>org.postgresql:postgresql</code> driver is upgraded from 42.7.2 to 42.7.11.</p></td><td><p>W-3300013</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>High memory consumption and memory management degradation over time under load due to unclosed connections is resolved.</p></td><td><p>W-22311048</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 1.15.1

**April 15, 2026**

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Issue Resolution</th><th>ID</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>The <code>com.mchange:c3p0</code> component is upgraded to 0.12.0.</p></td><td><p>W-21701822</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>com.mchange:mchange-commons-java</code> component is upgraded to 0.4.0.</p></td><td><p>W-21701822</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>org.springframework.security:spring-security-core</code> component is upgraded to 5.8.16.</p></td><td><p>W-21701822</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>org.springframework.security:spring-security-config</code> component is upgraded to 5.8.16.</p></td><td><p>W-21701822</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>The <code>com.sun.xml.bind:jaxb-impl</code> component is upgraded to 2.3.9.</p></td><td><p>W-21701822</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

## 1.15.0

**December 9, 2025**

### What’s New

- Database Connector introduced the `useColumnNumbers` flag to allow operations to use column
indices (1, 2, 3…) as map keys instead of column labels, eliminating duplicate key issues when
multiple columns share the same name.

### Compatibility

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Software</th><th>Version</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>Mule</p></td><td><p>4.1.1 and later</p></td></tr><tr><td><p>OpenJDK</p></td><td><p>8, 11, and 17</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th>Issue Resolution</th><th>ID</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p>The connector now correctly handles <code>AbstractMethodError</code> exceptions when calling stored procedures with CLOB type parameters using the jtds-1.3.1 driver for SQL Server. Previously, the connector would fail when the driver’s <code>createClob</code> method threw this error. The connector now catches this exception and falls back to the legacy CLOB handling approach.</p></td><td><p>W-13179282</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

### Fixed Issues

- Database Connector threw an incorrect `QueryExecutionException` exception when the `SQLException`
thrown by the driver didn’t have an SQLState nor a message related to the connection. Therefore,
the reconnection strategy was not triggered. The correct throw message is `DB:CONNECTIVITY`.
  (DBCLI-11)

## 1.10.2

**July 19, 2021**

### Fixed Issues

- Database Connector threw an `Invalid column type` message when using Oracle’s XMLTYPE as input for
the **Stored Procedure** operation. The connector now manages the correct type. (DBCON-278)

- Database Connector threw an incorrect `TransactionException` exception when the connection was
lost during an XA transaction. Therefore, the reconnection strategy was not triggered. The correct
  throw message is `DB:CONNECTIVITY`. (DBCLI-7)

- The Database Connector **Stored Procedure** operation incorrectly executed database functions with
an IN OUT parameter. Now, the operation performs correctly. (DBCLI-8)

- Database Connector did not log enough information when the Connection Factory caught an exception
during the connection creation. Now, the connector logs the proper information. (DBCLI-9)

## 1.10.1

**July 05, 2021**

### Fixed Issues

- Database Connector exported incorrect packages, now the connector exports the correct packages.
  (DBCON-283, DBCON-286)

## 1.10.0

**June 04, 2021**

### Features

Added new options for **Pooling profile** configuration:

- The **Test connection on checkout** field enables you to disable connection testing on checkout in
order to improve the connector’s performance.

- The **Max statement** field enables you to define the total number of `PreparedStatements` a
  DataSource will cache.

## 1.9.4

**June 01, 2021**

### Fixed Issues

- Database Connector logged an exception at **ERROR** level causing a large amount of content to be
saved in the log registry. Now the connector uses the correct log level, **DEBUG**. (DBCLI-5)

## 1.9.3

**April 05, 2021**

### Fixed Issues

- When using the **Insert** operation, Database Connector didn’t correctly resolve the NCLOB types,
which resulted in a `DB:QUERY_EXECUTION` error with an `Invalid column type` message. (DBCON-265)

## 1.9.2

**March 22, 2021**

### Fixed Issues

- Database Connector threw an incorrect `NoSuchElementException` Java exception for a connection
reset while iterating a result, and produced a `noncatch` by the `try catch` block. The correct
  throw message is `DB:CONNECTIVITY`. (DBCON-253)

- The **Stored Procedure** operation threw a `MULE:UNKONWN` error (with a `NullPointerException`
message) when returning an empty array. (DBCON-255)

- Database Connector closed the connection after reading the entire ResultSet of a **Select**
operation despite having the LOB stream still open. This behavior prevented the LOB values from
being read after the connection closure. (DBCON-256)

## 1.9.1

**November 30, 2020**

### Fixed Issues

- Fixed an issue in which the **On Table Row** operation closed connections once rows were
dispatched to the next processor, thus preventing the consumption of streams. (DBCON-234)

## 1.9.0

**November 17, 2020**

### Minimum Mule Version

### Fixed Issues

- Fixed an issue in which stored procedures were not closing connections when no stream was
returned, nor any transaction performed. (DBCON-225)

- When the `Bulk insert` operation used debug output, it logged a placeholder instead of the record
  number. (DBCON-228)

## 1.8.2

**August 12, 2020**

### Fixed Issues

colon (::) expression. For example, `SELECT MAX(modified_date)::DATE FROM sales`, where
`modified_date` is of type string. This feature does not change the existing behavior for the
connector (MULE-18150).

### Fixed Issues

- MySQL driver now logs to the Mule Log when using MySQL Driver 8.x and higher (MULE-18287).

- Fixed issue that prevented the usage of the BulkInsert Operation within a ForEach scope
  (MULE-18260).

- Fixed issue that prevented the logging of information about a BulkUpdate Operation when an
Exception was thrown by it (MULE-18290).
