# APIkit for AsyncAPI 1.2.0 Release Notes

APIkit for AsyncAPI supports scaffolding Mule apps with the AsyncAPI 2.6 spec in Anypoint Code
Builder and Anypoint Studio. With this support, you can use asynchronous messaging protocols and
design event-driven APIs.

## What’s New

- APIkit for AsyncAPI now provides enhanced observability by including dynamic span naming and route
  metadata in OpenTelemetry traces, so you can identify specific API operations and matched resource
  templates. For more information, see the
