# Configuring Anypoint Code Builder for Anypoint Platform PCE

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Use [Anypoint Code Builder](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-code-builder/start-acb-desktop) in VS Code to design,
develop, and deploy applications to your Anypoint Platform Private Cloud Edition (Anypoint Platform
PCE) environment. You can use Anypoint Code Builder without MuleSoft Vibes by following the standard
Anypoint Code Builder documentation. MuleSoft Vibes is optional.

## Before You Begin

Before you start developing with Anypoint Code Builder, ensure that you have:

- An Anypoint Platform PCE 4.3 environment

- Access to an [Anypoint Platform](https://anypoint.mulesoft.com) account on anypoint.mulesoft.com

This access is separate from your Anypoint Platform PCE license. Anypoint Code Builder uses it to
retrieve assets and export the application artifact.

- Mule runtime engine 4.9 LTS or 4.12 Edge support.

- Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code) installed on your local machine

- Anypoint CLI installed and configured for your Anypoint Platform PCE instance

  For installation instructions, see
  [Installing Anypoint CLI](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-cli/latest/install).

- These Anypoint CLI plugins installed by running the following command once for each plugin:

  anypoint-cli-v4 plugins:install <plugin-name>

Replace `<plugin-name>` with each of the following:

  - [anypoint-cli-account-plugin](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-cli/latest/account)

  - [anypoint-cli-api-manager-plugin](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-cli/latest/api-mgr)

  - [anypoint-cli-exchange-plugin](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-cli/latest/exchange-assets)

  - [mulesoft-anypoint-cli-designcenter-plugin](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-cli/latest/design-center)

MuleSoft Vibes is optional. If you use it, install
[MuleSoft Vibes Skills](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-code-builder/vibes-skills) on your local machine, in Claude,
Copilot, or another supported developer agent.

> [!NOTE] Contact your MuleSoft representative for details on how to configure MuleSoft Vibes within
> your environment.
>
> For installation instructions, see
> [Using Skills with MuleSoft Vibes](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-code-builder/vibes-skills#install-mulesoft-skills-in-claude-code).

## Connect Anypoint Platform PCE with Anypoint Code Builder

To configure Anypoint Platform PCE with Anypoint Code Builder, connect your local VS Code
environment to your Anypoint Platform account:

1. In VS Code, navigate to **Settings** > **Extensions** > **Anypoint Code Builder (Platform)**.

2. Set the **Mule Control Plane** dropdown to **Private Cloud Edition**, and enter your PCE URL
under **Mule: Control Plane PCE Url**.

    For example:

3. Optional: Install and configure
    [MuleSoft Vibes Skills](https://docs.mulesoft.com/anypoint-code-builder/vibes-skills#install-mulesoft-skills-in-claude-code).

4. Open the **Command Palette**, run **MuleSoft: Login to Anypoint Platform**, and complete
    authentication in your browser.

5. If you use SSO or MFA, set the `ANYPOINT_BEARER_TOKEN` environment variable in your terminal to
an access token from your authenticated Anypoint Platform session.

After you complete this setup, you can [deploy Mule applications](https://docs.mulesoft.com/private-cloud/latest/deploy-apps-code-builder) to
Anypoint Platform PCE.
