# Publishing Custom Policies to Exchange

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

During the custom policy development cycle, you can upload your policy to Anypoint Exchange to
create and manage policy assets, control versions, and distribute policies to other users or
gateways. For more information about Exchange, see [Anypoint Exchange Overview](https://docs.mulesoft.com/exchange/).

The steps and commands differ depending on whether your policy is a unified-model or split-model
project. Choose the guide that matches your project:

- [Uploading a Unified-Model Policy to Exchange](https://docs.mulesoft.com/pdk/1.7/policies-pdk-publish-policies)

- [Uploading a Split-Model Policy to Exchange](https://docs.mulesoft.com/pdk/1.7/policies-pdk-publish-policies-split)

After you upload your policy to Exchange, see
[Applying Custom Policies](https://docs.mulesoft.com/pdk/1.7/policies-pdk-apply-policies) to apply the policy to your APIs.
