# Modifying Message Flow Settings

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Active message flows between you and your partners don’t require much maintenance. However, you
might need to:

- Change flow identifiers, endpoints, or maps.

- Switch from a sandbox environment and reclaim production-environment resources.

- Delete the flow when it becomes inactive, as described in
  [Deleting Message Flows](https://docs.mulesoft.com/partner-manager/latest/delete-message-flows).

> [!IMPORTANT] Before making changes, carefully consider the impact on the message flow.

## Modify the Settings of an Inbound Message Flow

To modify the settings of an inbound message flow:

1. In the sidebar, select **Message Flows**.

2. On the **Message flows** page, select the message flow to modify.

3. Change any of the following settings:

<colgroup><col> <col> <col></colgroup>

Setting

Actions

Additional Information

Receive from <partner>

Select different identifiers for the partner.

Partner Manager Identifiers

Receiving endpoint <endpoint name>

Select a different receiving endpoint.

(AS2 endpoint) Select a different AS2 sender.

(AS2 endpoint) View the AS2 certificate associated with the endpoint.

Creating Endpoints

Sender and Receiver Identifiers

Certificate Settings

Source message

Select a different receive from partners message type.

(EDIFACT or X12 message type) View current validation settings.

(EDIFACT or X12 message type) Indicate whether to send a 997 functional acknowledgment and select the endpoint to which to send the acknowledgment.

Creating Message Types

EDI Acknowledgement Reconciliation

Map

View the associated translation map, add additional source attributes to the map, or import another one.

Translation Maps

Adding Additional Source Attributes to a Translation Map

Target at <host>

Select a different Target at Host message type.

Select a different Target at Host endpoint.

Creating Message Types

Creating Endpoints

4. Verify that any modified sections of the flow show a green checkmark next to them and then click
**Deploy** to deploy the updated message flow to Mule.

    > [!NOTE] It can take five minutes or so for your configuration changes to sync with Mule.

5. To test your modified message flow, see
    [Deploying and Testing Message Flows](https://docs.mulesoft.com/partner-manager/latest/deploy-message-flows).

After you confirm the successful deployment of your message flow, you can track its processed
messages from the **Activity** page.
