# Adding a Scanner for Microsoft Foundry

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Add a scanner to discover, import, and sync agents from Microsoft Foundry into Exchange. Then you
can govern the agents and consume them in other applications.

## Before You Begin

This setup requires specific configurations and access privileges within the Azure environment to
enable the agent scanner to access and list Microsoft Foundry agents.

- Prerequisites

  - An Active Azure Subscription is required for creating a Microsoft Foundry project.

  - An Azure App Registration must be completed in the Azure portal to generate necessary
    credentials in the Azure portal.

  - A new project created using the resource type, Microsoft Foundry resource.

- Required Configuration Values

These values, which are obtained during the Azure App registration setup, are required for scanner
  configuration:

  - Tenant ID (Directory ID)

  - Client ID (Application ID)

  - Client Secret

- Required Permissions and Roles:

  - The application principal from the prerequisite step must be assigned the Cognitive Services
User role within the Azure portal to grant the scanner access.

- Scanner Configuration Limitations:

  Agent listing is project-specific:

  - The user must provide all corresponding Project IDs during scanner configuration if agents are
    spread across multiple projects.

  - A new scanner configuration is required for every new project created.

  For more information, see the
  [Microsoft Foundry documentation](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-foundry/).

## Add a Scanner for Microsoft Foundry

1. Verify that you are in the business group where you want to add the scanner.

2. From the sidebar in Exchange, click **Scanners**.

3. Enter a name for the scanner.

4. In **Scanner Run Configuration**, complete these fields or options:

    <table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th><strong>Field/Option</strong></th><th><strong>Value</strong></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p><strong>Run Schedule</strong></p></td><td><p>Select a frequency and local time.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Sync Review</strong></p></td><td><p>Select an option: Auto-resolve or Ask to review.</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

5. From **Connection Configuration**, complete these fields:

<table><colgroup><col> <col></colgroup><thead><tr><th><strong>Field</strong></th><th><strong>Value</strong></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><p><strong>Provider</strong></p></td><td><p>Select <strong>Azure AI Foundry</strong>.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Asset Type</strong></p></td><td><p>Only agents are supported.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Authentication Method</strong></p></td><td><p>Select <strong>OAuth 2 Client Credentials</strong>.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Tenant ID</strong></p></td><td><p>Enter the application ID.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Client ID</strong></p></td><td><p>Enter the directory ID.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Client Secret</strong></p></td><td><p>Enter the client secret.</p></td></tr><tr><td><p><strong>Project Endpoints</strong></p></td><td><p>Enter the project endpoint URLs separated by commas. Confirm you are using the public endpoint, not a private or VNet-restricted endpoint. If the connection fails, verify your endpoint type matches your network configuration, as private endpoints may not be accessible to the scanner running on AWS infrastructure.</p></td></tr></tbody></table>

6. Click **Test Connection**.

If the connection fails, review the **Connection Configuration** settings. Update the settings,
and then test the connection again.

7. To send email notifications:

    1. Select **Advanced Settings** and turn on **Send Email Notifications**.

    2. Enter an email address.

8. Click **Add Scanner**.
