# Deleting Monitors

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Although you can easily delete unnecessary monitors, there is no cost in keeping them.

## Before You Begin

Ensure that your user ID has the following permission set in Access Management:

- **Exchange > Exchange Administrator**

See [Manage Permissions](https://docs.mulesoft.com/access-management/managing-permissions).

## Delete a Monitor

Delete a monitor either from the homepage or from its detail page.

To delete a monitor from the homepage:

1. Hover over the test to delete.

2. Click **Delete** (![afm ui trash button](/mulesoft/current/en-us/api-functional-monitoring/_images/afm-ui-trash-button.png)).

3. In the **Delete Monitor** dialog, click **Delete**.

To delete a monitor from its detail page:

1. Select the monitor that you want to delete.

2. Click the monitor.

3. Click **More** (![afm ui more button](/mulesoft/current/en-us/api-functional-monitoring/_images/afm-ui-more-button.png)) > **Delete Monitor**.

4. In the **Delete Monitor** dialog, click **Delete**.

The monitor and its schedules are deleted. The workers provisioned for the schedules are also
deleted, and their consumed resources are made available to other workers.
