# Enabling or Disabling Generative AI for Anypoint Platform

> For the full documentation index, see: https://docs.mulesoft.com/llms.txt

Connect a trusted Salesforce organization and enable generative AI for your Anypoint Platform
organization. After it’s enabled, supported MuleSoft products can use it, and tracking and billing
route through Salesforce.

As an organization administrator, you can assign permission to the users in your organization so
they can use generative AI with Anypoint Platform products that support it, including:

- Anypoint Code Builder

- Anypoint Exchange

- Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)

## Before You Begin

Einstein Generative AI must be enabled in the connected Salesforce organization before you can
enable generative AI in Anypoint Platform.

Complete this checklist:

1. Have administrative access to a non-trial, non-expired Anypoint Platform organization, with the
    root Organization Administrator role.

2. Have administrative access to a Salesforce organization that
    [has Einstein Generative AI enabled](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ai.generative_ai_enable.htm&type=5).

3. [Establish a tenant relationship](https://docs.mulesoft.com/access-management/trusted-salesforce-org) between your Anypoint Platform
organization and that trusted Salesforce organization.

4. Enable generative AI in Anypoint Platform: accept the terms and conditions and set a default
    Salesforce organization. See
[Enable Generative AI for Your Anypoint Platform Organization](#enable-einstein-anypoint).

To make the setting that enables generative AI available in Anypoint Platform, complete items 2 and
3, then [enable generative AI in the Salesforce organization](#enable-einstein-salesforce).

To use AI-assisted features such as MuleSoft Vibes, users also need the **Mule Developer Generative
AI User** permission in Anypoint Platform. Organization administrators receive this permission
automatically. To grant it to other users, see
[Add the Required Permissions for Users](#add-the-required-permissions-for-users).

## Enable Generative AI for Anypoint Platform in the Salesforce Organization

When the Salesforce administrator enables generative AI for the connected Anypoint Platform
organization, the connected Salesforce organization routes the requests. The connected Salesforce
organization handles tracking and billing.

1. Log in to your Salesforce organization.

2. In Salesforce Setup, enter `MuleSoft` in the **Quick Find** box, then select **MuleSoft >
    Anypoint Platform Setup**.

3. In **Your connected Anypoint Platform Organization**, select **Complete Connection**.

4. In **Connection to MuleSoft Anypoint Platform**, switch the setting that enables generative AI
    for Anypoint Platform to **Enabled**.

5. Click **Close**.

After you enable it in the Salesforce organization, you see **Enabled in Salesforce** in
Anypoint Platform for the connected Salesforce organization.

## Enable Generative AI for Your Anypoint Platform Organization

When generative AI is enabled in Anypoint Platform through a connected Salesforce organization,
every supported feature in that organization can use it.

1. Sign in to Anypoint Platform using an account that has the Organization Administrator
    permission.

2. Select **Access Management** from the ![gear icon](/mulesoft/current/en-us/access-management/_images/gear.svg) menu.

3. Select **Salesforce**.

4. When prompted to enable generative AI for Anypoint Platform, select **Accept**.

5. Accept the terms and conditions.

The **Salesforce Orgs** section shows the orgs with
[established tenant relationships](https://docs.mulesoft.com/access-management/connecting-salesforce-orgs) with your Anypoint Platform
    organization.

Each Salesforce organization shows the enabled and disabled Anypoint Platform capabilities.

6. Select the Salesforce organization to use by default in your Anypoint Platform organization:

    1. In **Capabilities managed in Salesforce**, select **Settings** for the capability that
enhances the Anypoint Platform developer experience.

    2. Select the Salesforce organization, then select **Save**.

## Add the Required Permissions for Users

When generative AI is enabled for your Anypoint Platform organization, organization administrators
are granted the required permission automatically.

To grant other users access, assign the required permissions manually.

1. Sign in to Anypoint Platform using an account that has the Organization Administrator
    permission.

2. Select **Access Management** from the ![gear icon](/mulesoft/current/en-us/access-management/_images/gear.svg) menu.

3. [Create a team](https://docs.mulesoft.com/access-management/configure-teams) for the users who need access to generative AI.

4. Select the **Permissions** tab.

5. In **Permissions**, select **Add permissions**.

6. Select the **Anypoint Code Builder > Mule Developer Generative AI User** permission and select
    **Next**.

7. Select the business groups to apply the permissions to.

Select which environments to apply the permission to if it’s enabled for the permission.

8. Select **Next**.

9. Review the permissions and the business groups and environments they apply to, and then select
    **Add Permissions**.

## Disable Generative AI

When you disable generative AI for your Anypoint Platform organization, none of the users in your
organization can use it in any of the features where it’s enabled.

1. Sign in to Anypoint Platform using an account that has the Organization Administrator
    permission.

2. Select **Access Management** from the ![gear icon](/mulesoft/current/en-us/access-management/_images/gear.svg) menu.

3. Select **Salesforce**.

4. In the **Capabilities managed in Salesforce** section, switch the capability that enhances the
Anypoint Platform developer experience to **Disabled**.
