# Promotion

Create promotional activities that are either part of a campaign or isolated targeted promotions to run at retail stores. This object is available in API version 47.0 and later.

### Category

- **Type**: picklist

- **Description**: Broad classification of promotions.
- **Possible values**:
    - Advertising
    - Personal Selling
    - Publicity
    - Sales Promotion

### Description

- **Type**: textarea
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: Description of the promotion.

### EndDate

- **Type**: date
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: End date of the promotion.

### IsActive

- **Type**: boolean
- **Properties**: Create, Defaulted on create, Filter, Group, Sort, Update
- **Description**: Indicates whether the promotion is active.

### LastReferencedDate

- **Type**: dateTime
- **Properties**: Filter, Nillable, Sort
- **Description**: The most recent date on which a user referenced this record.

### LastViewedDate

- **Type**: dateTime
- **Properties**: Filter, Nillable, Sort
- **Description**: The most recent date on which a user viewed this record.

### Level

- **Type**: picklist

- **Description**: Level at which a promotion is applicable.

    - Product Category

### Name

- **Description**: Unique identifier for the promotion.

### Objective

- **Description**: Business objective of the promotion. For example, launching a new product, keeping customers satisfied, or clearing stock.

### OwnerId

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Create, Defaulted on create, Filter, Group, Sort, Update
- **Description**: ID of the promotion record owner.

### StartDate

- **Type**: date
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Sort, Update
- **Description**: Start date of the promotion.
