# Expense

Life Sciences Cloud fields extend the standard Expense object to represent expenses related to a visit. This object is available in API version 65.0 and later.

create(), delete(), describeLayout(), describeSObjects(), getDeleted(), getUpdated(), query(), retrieve(), search(), undelete(), update(), upsert()

## Fields

### Amount

- **Type**: currency
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Sort, Update
- **Description**: Required. The amount of the expense.

### Comments

- **Type**: textarea
- **Properties**: Create, Nillable, Update
- **Description**: The notes that are attached to the managed event participant.

### EstimatedExpenseId

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The ID of the estimated expense associated with the expense.
    
    This field is a relationship field.
- **Relationship Name**: EstimatedExpense
- **Refers To**: EstimatedExpense

### ExpenseNumber

- **Type**: string
- **Properties**: Autonumber, Defaulted on create, Filter, idLookup, Sort
- **Description**: The name of the expense.

### ExpenseOriginId

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The associated provider visit record.
    
    This field is a polymorphic relationship field.
- **Relationship Name**: ExpenseOrigin
- **Refers To**: Visit

### ExpenseSystemIntegrationError

- **Type**: string
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The error details from the expense system integration.

### ExpenseSystemIntegrationStatus

- **Type**: picklist
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Restricted picklist, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The status of the expense system integration for the expense.

### IsAllocationUneven

- **Type**: boolean
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: Indicates whether the expense allocation is uneven across participants.

### LastReferencedDate

- **Type**: dateTime
- **Properties**: Filter, Nillable, Sort
- **Description**: The timestamp when the current user last accessed this record indirectly, for example, through a list view or related record.

### LastViewedDate

- **Type**: dateTime
- **Properties**: Filter, Nillable, Sort
- **Description**: If this value is null, and LastReferenceDate is not null, the user accessed this record or list view indirectly.

### OwnerId

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Create, Defaulted on create, Filter, Group, Sort, Update
- **Description**: ID of the owner or creator of the expense.
    
    This field is a polymorphic relationship field.
- **Relationship Name**: Owner
- **Refers To**: Group, User

### RelatedExpenseType

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The associated expense type record.
    
    This field is a relationship field.
- **Relationship Name**: RelatedExpenseType

### SourceSystemIdentifier

- **Type**: string
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, idLookup, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The ID of the record in the external source system for data integrations.

### SourceSystemName

- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The name of the external source system from which the record was imported.

### TransactionDate

- **Type**: date
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Sort, Update
- **Description**: Required. The date when the expense is incurred for the provider visit.
