# Life Sciences Cloud Developer Guide

Life Sciences Cloud is an end-to-end, purpose-built platform for the life sciences industry spanning clinical to medical to commercial domains. This guide includes the available developer resources for Life Sciences Cloud.

- **[Life Sciences Cloud Data Models](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/lsc_data_models_overview.htm)**
Life Sciences Cloud uses a suite of standard Salesforce objects to structure and store data related to Clinical Engagement, Customer Engagement, Patient Engagement, MedTech Commercial Engagement and other features. To better understand how features work, it helps to look at the data models, which are graphical representations of collections of objects and their relationships.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Standard Objects](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/life_sciences_sforce_api_objects.htm)**
Life Sciences Cloud standard objects store clinical, medical, and commercial information. Some platform objects used with Life Sciences Cloud are documented in the Object Reference for the Salesforce Platform.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Fields on Standard Objects](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/life_sciences_custom_fields.htm)**
Life Sciences Cloud adds fields to some standard Salesforce objects to represent information about individuals. These fields are available only in orgs where Life Sciences Cloud is enabled.
- **[StandardValueSet Names and Standard Picklist Fields](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/lsc_standardvalueset_names.htm)**
This table lists the names of standard picklists as standard value sets and their corresponding field names.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Platform Events](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/life_sciences_platform_events_parent.htm)**
Use the ApplnFormAppealStsChgEvnt platform event to notify subscribers when the status of the Financial Assistance Program’s appeal changes. Use the CareBnftVrfyRqstStsChgEvent platform event to notify subscribers when the status of care benefit verify request changes.
- **[Working With Electronic Health Records](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/hl7.htm)**
HL7 (Health Level Seven) is a standard for exchanging electronic health records (EHR). You can parse EHR data transmitted via HL7 data messages and store it in Salesforce.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Business APIs](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/life_sciences_business_apis_rest_reference.htm)**
You can access Life Sciences Cloud Business APIs using REST endpoints. These REST APIs follow similar conventions as Connect REST APIs.
- **[Apex Reference](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/ls_apex_reference.htm)**
This Apex reference goes into detail about the built-in Apex classes, interfaces, methods, or enums for Life Sciences Cloud.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Standard Invocable Actions](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/lifesciences_invocable_actions_parent.htm)**
Use the standard invocable actions available with Life Sciences Cloud to streamline the process of enrolling participants in clinical trials.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Tooling API Objects](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/life_sciences_tooling_api_parent.htm)**
Tooling API exposes metadata used in developer tooling that you can access through REST or SOAP. Tooling API’s SOQL capabilities for many metadata types allow you to retrieve smaller pieces of metadata.
- **[Life Sciences Cloud Metadata Types](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.life_sciences_dev_guide.meta/life_sciences_dev_guide/life_sciences_metadata_types.htm)**
Metadata API enables you to access some types and feature settings that you can customize in the user interface.
