# TelemetryDefinition

Represents the definition of the structure of a telemetry signal sent from a connected asset or vehicle. This object is available in API version 65.0 and later.

## Fields

### Description

- **Type**: textarea
- **Properties**: Create, Nillable, Update
- **Description**: The description of the telemetry definition.

### IsTemplate

- **Type**: boolean
- **Properties**: Defaulted on create, Filter, Group, Sort
- **Description**: Indicates whether the telemetry definition is a template (true) or not (false). The default value is false.

### LatestVersionId

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort
- **Description**: The latest version of the telemetry definition. The telemetry definition version with the highest version number is the latest. This field is a relationship field.
- **Relationship Name**: LatestVersion
- **Refers To**: TelemetryDefinitionVersion

### Language

- **Type**: picklist
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Restricted picklist, Sort
- **Description**: The language of the telemetry definition. Possible values are:

- en\_IN—English (Indian)
- en\_US—English

### UsageType

- **Type**: picklist
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Restricted picklist, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The usage type of the telemetry definition. Possible values are:

- ConnectedAsset—Connected Asset
- ConnectedVehicle—Connected Vehicle
