# Skill

Represents a skill that service resources have. For technician type service resources, the skill represents their area of expertise. For asset type service resources, the skill must be specified as Test Drive. This object is available in API version 59.0 and later.

## Supported Calls

create(), describeSObjects(), query(), retrieve(), update(), upsert()

## Special Access Rules

Automotive and Automotive Scheduler must be enabled.

## Fields

### Description

- **Type**: textarea
- **Properties**: Create, Nillable, Update
- **Description**: The description of the skill.

### DeveloperName

- **Type**: string
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The unique name of the object in the API. This name can contain only underscores and alphanumeric characters, and must be unique in your org. It must begin with a letter, not include spaces, not end with an underscore, and not contain two consecutive underscores.

### LastViewedDate

- **Type**: dateTime
- **Properties**: Filter, Nillable, Sort
- **Description**: The date when the record was last viewed.

### MasterLabel

- **Type**: string
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, idLookup, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The name of the skill.

### TypeId

- **Type**: reference
- **Properties**: Create, Filter, Group, Nillable, Sort, Update
- **Description**: The type of skill. This field is a relationship field.
- **Relationship Name**: Type
- **Relationship Type**: Lookup
- **Refers To**: SkillType
