# URL Display Mode for Android

The URL Display Mode in [UIConfiguration](https://salesforce-async-messaging.github.io/messaging-in-app-android/sdk/ui/com.salesforce.android.smi.ui/-u-i-configuration/index.html) determines how a link opens when clicked by a user. You can set the SDK to open links in the default browser or in a browser within the app.

This article applies to the following implementations:

| UI SDK | Core SDK |
| :----: | :------: |
|   ✅   |          |

To open links in the default browser, set `urlDisplayMode` to `ExternalBrowser`. To open links in a browser within the app, set `urlDisplayMode` to `InlineBrowser`.

```
UrlDisplayMode.kt
enum class UrlDisplayMode {
    ExternalBrowser,
    InlineBrowser
}
```

```
UIConfiguration.kt
// The UIConfiguration flag determines how a URL opens when clicked
// The default is InlineBrowser
// For universal links that direct to another app, set it to externalBrowser.
val urlDisplayMode: UrlDisplayMode = UrlDisplayMode.InlineBrowser,
```
