# Set Up reCAPTCHA for Your Messaging Deployments

Protect your messaging deployment from spam bots using reCAPTCHA verification. [Learn more about reCAPTCHA](https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/docs/v3). This feature is available only for API and Web customers—not yet for Mobile.

1. Enable reCAPTCHA for your deployments by following the steps detailed in the [Adding reCAPTCHA to Your Messaging Deployment](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=service.miaw_recaptcha_verification.htm) page.
2. Follow [Google's reCAPTCHA v3 page](https://developers.google.com/recaptcha/docs/v3) to implement the client side. For `siteKey`, ensure you add the correct site key you got from step 1 for this messaging deployment.
3. Add the client generated reCAPTCHA token using the `captchaToken` property for both [authenticated](http://developer.salesforce.com/docs/service/messaging-api/references/miaw-api-reference?meta=generateAccessTokenForAuthenticatedUser) and [unauthenticated](http://developer.salesforce.com/docs/service/messaging-api/references/miaw-api-reference?meta=generateAccessTokenForUnauthenticatedUser) users.

## Troubleshoot Errors

Troubleshoot common errors when setting up reCAPTCHA.

### `ERROR for site owner: Invalid Domain for Site Key`

This error is shown on the chat button.

1. Navigate to [reCAPTCHA admin site](https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin).
2. Select the reCAPTCHA site you configured.
3. Click on the gear icon to go to the settings page.
4. Under **Domains**, verify that the correct domain name of your parent website is displayed. For example, for the website `https://abc.xyz/ab/bc`, you add `abc.xyz` as the domain name.
5. Click **Save**.

Reload your website.
