# devops promotion validate

Validate work item promotion for a pipeline stage.

## Description for devops promotion validate

Validates whether the specified work items can be promoted to the target pipeline stage. Checks for VCS and object permission errors before a promotion is attempted.

## Flags

| <code>&#8209;&#8209;target&#8209;org</code> | <code>&#8209;o</code> | **Type:** Value<br>**Required**<br><br>Username or alias of the target org. Not required if the `target-org` configuration variable is already set. |

## Examples for devops promotion validate

Validate promotion of a work item to a target stage:

```

Validate promotion of multiple work items:

```shell
